1. Focusing
Before starting a lesson make sure that all the students attention is focused on you. You should start unless you have the students attention.
Some teachers try to raise the voice when students are not listening to them. This will only raise the voice level of students more.
It has been observed that a soft spoken teacher has a calmer and quieter classroom than the stronger voice.
2. Direct Instruction
It has been in my observation that students tend to misbehave when they do not know what the teacher wants them or is expecting them to do. One needs to plan effectively and instruct the students about the lesson and the expectations. Keep you instruction short as more time you spend talking the less they will be interested.
3. Monitoring
A lot of behavioural issues can be handled if the teacher monitors the class effectively. Make sure you do not settle in the class at one place only. Pass through the whole class to know what the students are up to. You can manage a class better this way and stop any potential misbehaviour.
4. Modeling
A good role model is enough for the class alone. Teacher should be an example for the students. If you want your students to be punctual, caring, supportive to each other then you should also foster these qualities in your self. You a soft voice in the class if you want your students to not shout.
5. Non verbal Cuing
Non verbal cues can be your body language, your facial expressions, body posture and hand signals. A good teacher must be confident in class. Learn some body language techniques and postures you should have and not in the class
